Undergraduate General Chemistry Guide

There are three different General Chemistry course sequences. You choose between them based upon your Mathematics preparation and enrollment and your interest and background in Chemistry. Most students enrolling in General Chemistry also enroll in a General Chemistry Laboratory course.

If you are not ready to take MAT 123

Complete your mathematics preparation

Take MAT 123 and CHE 129 in the Spring

	Fall Semester	Spring Semester
If you are taking MAT 123	CHE 129 and CHE 130 General Chemistry IA and Problem soliving in General Chemistry and CHE 133 General Chemistry Laboratory I	CHE 132 General Chemistry II and CHE 134 General Chemistry Laboratory II

If you are taking MAT 125 or Higher	CHE 131 General Chemistry IB and CHE 133 General Chemistry Laboratory I	CHE 132 General Chemistry II and CHE 134 General Chemistry Laboratory II

If you are taking MAT 125 or Higher with Math Placement of 5 or Higher and you have strong High School Chemistry	CHE 141 Honors Chemistry I and CHE 143 Honors Chemistry Laboratory I	CHE 142 Honors Chemistry II and CHE 144 Honors Chemistry Laboratory II
